Concluding the Techno-Music Summer Camp in Jerusalem

Al Nayzak Organization and the National Conservatory of Music Conclude the Techno-Music Summer Camp in Jerusalem

 

Jerusalem: Al Nayzak for Supportive Education and Scientific Innovation and the National Conservatory of Music concluded yesterday in Jerusalem the activities of the science and music summer camp: “Techno-Music Camp”. The camp aimed to create a program that combines entertainment and recreation through music on one hand, and applied scientific education and innovation on the other.

The summer camp included a wide range of activities in educational, scientific, and entertainment subjects, which included: critical and creative thinking, Physics in the Streets, Chemistry in the Kitchen and Bathroom, Modern Technology and Robotics. Additionally, the summer camp engaged students with a variety of musical and vocal activities intended to help develop musical talent and refine it musically, educationally, and culturally. These programs included: Maghana, Natateef, Anamel, and some entertaining musical activities in addition to a range of sports, and drama activities that catered to the participants’ interests and succeeded in grabbing their attention and intrigue. The summer camp also included special visits to the Sa’adeh Science and Technology House in Birzeit, which is affiliated with Al Nayzak, where they followed to enjoy activities filled with engaging scientific inquiry in an atmosphere filled with amusement and play.  

The camp hosted around 100 participants, aged between 6 and 14 years, and came as a continuation to the journey of developing the capacities of scientifically and musically talented students. The camp’s program actively worked to bridge students closer to concepts of critical and rational thinking under the framework of entertainment and play. Such an approach helps cultivate and develop participants’ entrepreneurship and team work spirit alongside their aptitude for innovative and critical work both the fields of science and music.

On his part, Mr. Muhannad Al-Taweel, Al Nayzak’s Jerusalem Branch manager, confirmed the success of the program demonstrated in the participant turnout and continued commitment to the camp as a signifier of the program’s uniqueness. He continued to state that the program offered its participants unusual and original methods of examining scientific and technological matters, without diverting away from the fun nature of summer camps. He followed to affirm that he considers this summer camp as an integral dimension of Al Nayzak’s efforts to spread and engrain a culture of scientific education and inquiry using innovative methods that bring science closer to the recipient’s mind and understanding.

Additionally, Mr. Mohammad Al-A’war, the Director of the National Conservatory of Music in Jerusalem, continued to add that the camp comprised of a number of programs and activities that attend to young musical talents, giving them an opportunity to engage with and advance their musical knowledge. He further highlighted that this camps comes as part of the Conservatory’s efforts aimed at spreading musical awareness in every Palestinian 

home in a vibrant and musically cultured way that contributes to the strengthening of Palestinian identity and the building of generations.

It is worthy to note that the “Techno-Music Camp” is the first of its kind in Palestine, and came as a joint initiative between Al Nayzak for Supportive Education and Scientific Innovation, and the National Music Conservatory of Music in Jerusalem to reinforce the strategic partnership of the two organizations and work to develop the skills of Jerusalemite students in a variety of fields that contribute to refining and enhancing their personality and sense of belonging to the city.
